Affordable health care is a topic for Democratic Women’s Club Feb. 27

Affordable health care will be the topic of a meeting at 6 pm Monday, hosted by the Anderson County Democratic Women’s Club. The club will host a soup dinner at the Clinton Community Center, 101 S. Hicks St.

Judy Roitman, executive director of the Tennessee Health Care Campaign (THCC), will be the guest speaker. Focusing on the need for Medicaid expansion, she will speak on “Policy Solutions to Cover the Uninsured, Protect Tennessee Hospitals and Reduce Medical Debt.”

Manitoba offers tuition funding to help care home aids hired during the pandemic get certification

Uncertified health-care aids in Manitoba who were hired to work in personal care homes during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic will be able to receive tuition support to expand their skill set and get certification, the province said Tuesday.

Over the next year, approximately 120 eligible health-care aids will be able to apply for the tuition support as part of the initial intake program, which will cost the province $3.4 million.
