In civil law systems, contract and tort fall underneath a basic law of obligations, whereas trusts law is handled beneath statutory regimes or worldwide conventions. International, constitutional and administrative law, criminal law, contract, tort, property law and trusts are considered the “conventional core subjects”, although there are many further disciplines. The sociology of law examines the interplay of law with society and overlaps with jurisprudence, philosophy of law, social theory and more specialised topics similar to criminology.
